Welcome to Healing Pineapple Therapy, PLLC
Perimenopause & Menopause Mental Health Support
When your body is changing—and you don't quite feel like yourself.

Perimenopause and menopause are natural stages of life, but the emotional and psychological changes that can accompany them can feel anything but simple.
You may notice that you're more anxious, irritable, overwhelmed, tearful, or emotionally reactive than you used to be. Sleep may suddenly become difficult. Your ability to concentrate may feel different, and things you once managed easily may now feel exhausting. Some women describe it simply as, “I just don't feel like myself anymore.”
At Healing Pineapple Therapy, PLLC, we provide specialized perimenopause and menopause mental health counseling to help women better understand what they're experiencing, recognize patterns in their symptoms, develop practical coping strategies, and feel more in control during this changing season of life.
Hormones & Your Mental Health
What's happening emotionally may be connected to what's happening physically.
Hormonal changes throughout the reproductive lifespan can influence mood, anxiety, sleep, concentration, energy, stress tolerance, and emotional regulation. During perimenopause, fluctuating hormones may also interact with existing stressors, previous mental health experiences, relationships, work demands, caregiving responsibilities, and other major life transitions.
You may experience:
-
Increased anxiety, worry, or feelings of overwhelm
-
Irritability, anger, or emotional sensitivity
-
Changes in mood or periods of sadness
-
Difficulty concentrating or “brain fog”
-
Changes in motivation or energy
-
Difficulty falling or staying asleep
-
Feeling less able to manage stress
-
Changes in confidence, body image, or identity
-
Relationship or intimacy changes
-
Mood changes that seem to follow certain times in your menstrual cycle
Understanding these patterns can be incredibly validating. You're not imagining what you're experiencing—and you don't have to simply push through it.

Understanding Your Patterns
Knowledge can help you feel more prepared and less caught off guard.
With advanced training in women's mental health and hormonal changes across the reproductive lifespan, I help clients explore how their individual cycle, hormonal transition, sleep, stress, and daily experiences may be interacting with their emotional well-being.
Through psychoeducation and symptom tracking, we can identify patterns in mood, energy, sleep, anxiety, and emotional regulation. From there, we can develop strategies for anticipating more challenging times and intentionally organizing responsibilities, self-care, communication, and coping tools around your individual patterns when possible.
The goal isn't to let your cycle control your life. It's to better understand your body and emotional patterns so you can respond to them with greater awareness and confidence.
How Therapy Can Help
Perimenopause and menopause aren't simply physical transitions. They can coincide with changes in identity, relationships, parenting, caregiving, careers, aging, and how you see yourself in this next stage of life.
Therapy provides a space to address both the emotional symptoms and the life transition itself.
Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, we can work together to develop practical strategies for managing anxiety, mood changes, emotional reactivity, stress, relationships, and changing expectations.
For women experiencing sleep difficulties, I also incorporate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to address patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting restorative sleep.
When appropriate, therapy can complement care from your gynecologist, primary care provider, or other medical professionals addressing the physical and hormonal aspects of perimenopause and menopause.
You don't have to wait until you're in crisis to ask for support.
Sometimes you need treatment for anxiety, depression, or insomnia. Sometimes you need help understanding why you suddenly don't feel like yourself. And sometimes you simply need support adjusting to a new season of life.
At Healing Pineapple Therapy, there is space for all of it.
