Welcome to Healing Pineapple Therapy, PLLC
Childless/Childfree Not By Choice (CNBC)
When the family you imagined may no longer be possible.
For some individuals and couples, the family-building journey eventually reaches a place they never expected. After infertility, pregnancy loss, fertility treatments, medical complications, financial limitations, or years of emotional exhaustion, you may find yourself facing the possibility of a life without the children you hoped to have.
Becoming childless not by choice (CNBC) isn't necessarily a decision you simply make and move on from. It can involve profound grief, uncertainty, relief, anger, questioning, and a reimagining of the future you once pictured.
At Healing Pineapple Therapy, PLLC, we provide compassionate childless not by choice counseling and reproductive grief support for individuals and couples as they explore what comes next.
This Wasn't the Plan
We live in a society where becoming a parent is often treated as an expected part of adulthood. When parenthood was something you deeply wanted but could not achieve, you may be grieving much more than the absence of a child.
You may be grieving the pregnancy you hoped to experience, the role of becoming a parent, traditions you imagined creating, relationships with future children, or simply the version of your life you thought you would have.
This type of loss isn't always recognized or understood by others. Friends and family may expect you to “move on,” suggest other ways to become a parent, or unintentionally minimize what you've lost.
You are allowed to grieve the life you imagined, even while learning how to build a meaningful life that looks different.

Finding Your Way Forward
Moving forward doesn't require forgetting how much you wanted to become a parent or convincing yourself that everything happened for a reason.
Counseling can provide a supportive space to process infertility and reproductive grief, explore difficult decisions about ending or pausing family-building efforts, navigate changes in identity and relationships, and begin imagining a future beyond trying to conceive.
For couples, therapy can also help when partners are grieving differently or aren't in the same place regarding when—or whether—to stop pursuing family-building options.
The goal isn't to erase your grief. It's to help you make room for both what you've lost and what your life can still hold.
Your life may look different from the one you imagined. Together, we can begin exploring what comes next.
